ODBC, which stands for Open DataBase Connectivity, is a powerful technology developed by Microsoft. ODBC began shipping with the first versions of Word, Excel, Access, and Office. All Microsoft® products conform to the ODBC standard.
ODBC allows easy access to data storage programs such as Access and SQL Server in a Web-based environment.
ODBC is no longer a recommended method to access databases. For information on connecting to your database please see the related articles.
