Making Money with Your Website

There are many different options when it comes to making money with your website through banners and even videos.

Sell Online with Your Own Cart

You can sell your own products by choosing a shopping cart, and loading your products or services that you offer. After that, add a few adjustments for design and security, and you can be running your very own online store. Orders will come to you from search engine traffic so make sure your website is up to date on the latest products, prices, content (keywords) and even the design. You only have a second or two to get someones attention so offer something special the moment they hit your page. Free shipping anyone?

PayPal

If you don't have a shopping cart, or you are not ready for one, you can sign up with PayPal and they will provide you with buttons to receive money from your web pages. This is great if you want an "all in one" solution or are just starting out.

Affiliate Programs

Set up a blog about something specific and match an affiliate program to that topic. Say you have a gardening blog, then join an affiliate program for a home improvement store's website. That website will provide you with banners and links with a custom ID that you add to your website. When a user clicks through from your website, and buys something there, you'll get either a dollar amount or a percentage back from the transaction.

A very popular affiliate program is through Amazon. You can even create your own store hosted by Amazon and hand pick the products. This can be a great addition to a blog or product review site.

The only drawback is that if you are just starting out, you can get denied. Build your site up a few months with content, graphics, even a logo and then apply.

Advertising

One of the most popular ways to make money online is through Google's AdSense program. This is when you put ads from Google's advertising customers onto your site. When an ad is click, you then get a small amount of money that is held until you hit your threshold. This might seem amazing, easy and fast but if the ad budget was very low, you could receive a penny. However, if the ad budget is set high, you can earn dollars. And lets say your site is very popular...ka-ching!

Did you even know you could make money on YouTube? You sure can! Just make some videos about something you are a pro at get as many people watching as possible. If YouTube thinks your videos are worthy, they'll actually pay you to be entertaining and informative.
